Job Advertisement: Grant Administrator
The Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF) is a government agency that develops knowledge about the living conditions of young people and the conditions of civil society. Our vision is an open and inclusive Sweden with good conditions for youth and civil society.
MUCF has been tasked by the government to work towards achieving the goals of youth policy and civil society policy. We do this by developing, collecting, and disseminating knowledge, as well as contributing to the coordination of state efforts. We collaborate with authorities, municipalities, regions, and organizations in civil society and distribute state grants.
As of January 1, 2026, the agency's mission has expanded as we have taken over the responsibilities previously held by the Agency for Support to Religious Communities (SST) and the responsibility for state tasks within minority policy. This means that MUCF is an even more important player in strengthening democracy, promoting participation, and contributing to an inclusive society.
MUCF has offices in Växjö and from February 2026 also in Stockholm.
The Grants Department's main tasks include distributing state grants to non-profit organizations, national minorities, religious communities, and foundations, as well as following up on these grants. The Grants Department also has a support function for grant-giving actors.
Job Responsibilities
The main tasks include processing national grant applications and reports from organizations seeking organizational, project, and operational grants based on existing regulations and other directives.
Read more at www.mucf.se (http://www.mucf.se).
The processing is done in collaboration with colleagues and with support from various functions within the agency. The work involves contacting applicants and actors interested in our grants.
You will be active in monitoring the environment and can handle difficult and complex cases with the help of colleagues, but also by independently researching relevant areas and seeking information.
The work in the Grants Department is event-driven, and you need to have a dynamic approach to the influx of tasks and be able to take on assignments as required by the organization at the moment.
The position is based at our office in Växjö.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree of at least 180 credits (120 points according to the previous system) in fields such as political science, law, or economics, or other education that the employer deems equivalent and relevant to the job's tasks.
- at least six months of relevant work experience in processing state grants in a government agency or other public organization.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
- good knowledge of the Office suite.
- experience working with and understanding various data systems.
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience working with grant applications. Significant weight will be placed on such experience in the selection and appointment process.
- experience from organizations that apply for or receive public grants.
- documented interest and preferably knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- civil society organizations
- democracy-promoting work
- work against racism and extremism
- integration issues
- religious communities
- national minorities
- Sweden's youth and civil society policy
As a person, you have a good ability to meet different target groups based on their conditions and needs. You do this through good collaboration skills both internally and externally and through a relationship-building and networking approach. You are structured and flexible in your work and follow processes and routine descriptions. You feel comfortable in new contexts and are confident in representing the agency in a professional and trustworthy manner. You are attentive, active in meetings, and contribute to a good collaborative climate.
Crucial for the position is your ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive processes forward.
Conditions
Fixed-term employment
Flexible working hours.
Location Växjö.
